Goodbye Dave Park

Gaining all the attention in the local news this week has been the WRONGFUL death of Dave Park, someone that everyone at this gym knew and loved, because he was a kind, generous and gentle soul.

Apparently, he and his wife Deanna were in Buffalo for a friend's Baby Shower... Dave had a few drinks and accidentally wandered into the wrong house. The homeowner didn't care for that, so after warning Dave that he had a weapon, he SHOT him.

BANG. ONE FUCKING SHOT AND DAVE'S LIFE IS OVER.

It comes out yesterday, by this motherfucker's own admission, that the door was NOT LOCKED. His lawyer has the fucking balls to claim that this fact changes nothing regarding the homeowner's right to defend himself and his family (from someone, I might add, that poses no fucking threat).

Okay, maybe it changes nothing in the eyes of the law, but you know what? Fuck you, man. Fuck you so fucking hard, you piece of shit. You want to protect your family? Good, I understand. Lock the fucking door. Problem solved. Instead, the thought process could only be, "Well, I haven't locked the door, but if someone comes in that doesn't belong here, I'll just shoot him."

Fuck you, idiot. Go to fucking hell. I don't care what the law fucking says, because the fact that your door was open at 1 in the morning changes everything. You lock your door and Dave is still alive, Deanna isn't trying to pick her life up and move on without her husband of one fucking year, and none of us here are walking around trying to make sense of something that is so senseless.

Goodbye David Park. You are forever in our thoughts and hearts.

  1. there is the strange law in america that you are legally allowed to shoot and kill someone that is tresppassing on your property. This is a while other issue that needs to be adressed, that law is a very old one and we do no longer live in the ruse and pillage days of old. Reasonable thing would have been for the home owner to display his weapond, and ask what the man was doing there. I dont know the guy but im pretty sure, staring down the barrel of a gun, he would had said 'im drunk, a silly mistake, i apologies and will now leave, sorry for intruding' and the guy would have made some insulting remarks and locked the door after him on the way out. and it would just have been a silly drunk story for him to tell his friends the next morning. But instead he shoots without trying to reaons, i am assuming things, but the shooter must have had alot of built up resentment, frustration, and agression to be so quick to shoot a stranger. Perhaps he lived with severe paranoida and fear (however i highly doubt this, since if that was the case he would surely be locking his doors all times). Im trying to form words to express what i feel about this but i cant find them, it is senseless, thats all i can say.

The law that you can kill someone if they are tresspasing should be changed to that you are allowed to kill, or wound, someone if they tresspass and display clear will to harm. That would then fall under the laws of self-defense, the law of being able to shoot someone if they tresspass should be revoked. and laws of self defense put in its place. If i dont like my neighbour i could technically invite him over and then shoot him dead and say, its my land, he tressapased, i had the right. this must be changed. self-defense is understandable, but based on what you guys said about this peron, i doubt that he was trying to attack the shooter. Sick society indeed, and it is taking its toll.

  2. Do you understand the fear that you would have when you hear someone in your house at night who isn't suppose to be there? Someone who could be there to possibly hurt you and your family? I don't think you do. Things are not always completely clear in your head when you are under the effects of adrenaline and fear. Perception is warped.

You should think a bit before you start getting angry at someone for something like this. Instead of looking for someone to throw all your anger at, perhaps look at all the angles.

Did it ever cross your mind that maybe he had forgotten to lock the door that night? That it had slipped his mind? I'm sure you've forgotten such things in your life as well.

Can you sympathize with the kind of post-traumatic stress that it causes you when you shoot someone? Especially when you find out the man was innocent and meant no harm to you?

  3. As for the previous comment, you have absolutely no understanding of how the laws work in your country.

  4. I understand them just fine. That doesn't mean they're not fucked up.
